I've been reading chronologically since 1986. And the Superman Titles are a bit surprising, and they reflect a quality that you can't find in those book right now. Of course, most of the credits go for Mike Carlin (yeah, the same guy that was editing Countdown).
Well, the two-parter i just read was "Crisis at hand", crossing over Man of Steel and Superman (october 1992). Well, Bogdanove really homages a small spart from Action Comics #1 when we find out that Superman tried to "scare" a violent husband, throwing him from a window. (he catched him later, of course). But this ended up in failure, since the guy ended up killing his wife after that. So, when Clark's neighbours start having domestic violence, he finds himself in a terrible situation, since he cannot do anything at all for them.
It's a good read.
